Canada: Officials order Alberta school to pay Muslim for lost prayer time

This is a blatant example of creeping sharia. The prayer times are not set in stone, and there are provisions within Islam to allow one to make up at a later time for prayer times missed. There is no justification for imposing such a requirement on a school and requiring it to disrupt its regular schedule to allow for Muslim prayers. But ignorant officials will continue to cave to the demands of Muslims, until all the world submits, which of course is the ultimate goal.

From CBC News:

A Calgary private school that refused to allow two Muslim students to pray on campus grounds has been fined $26,000 by the Alberta Human Rights Commission.

The tribunal found Webber Academy discriminated against the 14-year-olds and caused them distress and loss of dignity.

The two students testified they had to try to do their daily prayers in secret, sometimes outside in the snow.

The school says it is appealing the decision.

“We’re not discriminating against anybody at the school on the basis of religion,” said Neil Webber, the president and founder of Webber Academy.

“We are a non-denominational school. We’ve operated on that basis for the last 18 years.”

At the tribunal, the school argued prayer that requires bowing or kneeling is “too obvious” and may make other students uncomfortable.

It said it wants to create a learning environment that is free of religious influences.

The human rights tribunal, headed by lawyer Sharon Lindgren-Hewlett, found otherwise.

“Despite the respondent’s specifically stated goal of making people of all religious backgrounds feel welcome, its actions, objectively viewed, were not welcoming,” the three-member panel wrote in its decision.

“If you’re a private school, what you should be taking from it is that the Human Rights Act applies to you,” said Sarah Burton, a human rights lawyer at the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre in Calgary.

The two human rights complaints were filed against Webber Academy in February 2012 by Shabnam Nazar and Farhat Amir on behalf of their sons.

Nazer and Amir told the tribunal that at first their sons prayed openly on school grounds with the permission of their teachers, but it didn’t last.

After two and a half weeks of classes, Webber Academy told the boys the prayers were against the school’s non-denominational policy.

The students kept trying to conduct their daily prayers.

Boys prayed secretly

Naman Siddique testified if it was too cold to go outside, he would find a nook or cranny in the school and pray in secret. He said he found it humiliating.

Siddique told the tribunal the school’s vice-president of administration, Barbara Webber, once interrupted his prayers in the school library to ask him repeatedly what he was doing.

He said the experience left a “deep fear” in his heart and he still feels the need to look over his shoulder when he’s praying in public spaces.

“I think we should watch this case,” said lawyer Sarah Burton.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it got to the Supreme Court of Canada or at least to the Alberta Court of Appeal to have some of these issues hashed out.”

Wisconsin: School tells kids to pretend to be Muslim

By Todd Starnes. Original link here.

Let’s pretend we’re Muslims—that was the assignment in a world history class at Union Grove High School in Wisconsin. Students were told to provide examples of how they practice the Islamic faith and the struggles they face.

One parent reached out to EAG News, accusing the school of indoctrination. This is the same school that once told kids that conservatism meant restricting personal freedoms.

So here’s the question: Were students ever told to pretend they were Jewish or Christian or Hindu? It seems to be a straightforward question—but one the local school district will not answer.

For quite some time, I have been exposing the Islamafication of American public schools. The Muslim faith has been given accommodation while the Christian faith has been marginalized.

As I wrote in my book, God Less America, Islamic advocates are waging what they call a stealth jihad in our school system. And if left unchecked, they will be successful in undermining the Judeo-Christian values upon which our great country was founded.

Great work by Kyle Olson and his team at EAG News.

CAIR gets Texas teacher fired for teaching truth about Islam

Despite being named to the UAE list of designated terrorist groups, and exposed by the FBI for its terrorist ties, Hamas-linked Muslim Brotherhood front group, CAIR, has forced the resignation of a senior government and economics teacher at Foster High School in Richmond for handing out materials to students that described Islam as an “ideology of war.”

Below are samples of the handouts:

ABC13  In a statement released on Tuesday night, a Lamar CISD spokesman said the teacher turned in his resignation on April 8. The teacher, identified by parents familiar with the class as Herby Woolverton, drew public criticism from the Muslim community, including  CAIR (Council On American-Islamic Relations), which called the eight-page handout “virulently anti-Muslim.”

Irate parents and students took to social media to condemn this forced resignation.

“I’m here in support of Dale Wolverton,” meeting attendee Sean Davis said. “He’s the definition of what an educator should be,” meeting attendee Austin Falcon said. Others say it’s unfair and they want this veteran teacher back in the classroom.  “If its going to move this way, I don’t want my child here. I’ll take my child somewhere else,” added Davis.

During the school board meeting, there was strong showing of support for the teacher, who reportedly gave students material claiming that “Muhammad was a false prophet” and that Islam is an ideology of war.

ONLY one student was offended by the handout. Her parents quickly contacted CAIR litigation jihadists, who went to work threatening the school with lawsuits and media intimidation if they did not force the teacher to resign.
